Progress – 50% Back, left front and most of right front completed

8) baby lace matinee jacket
Yarn – no idea, I inherited a couple of sacks of yarn when my nan died. She used to knit items for the church bazaar and people would donated their leftover balls to her so most of the yarn in the sacks are in part balls with no labels. Much of it is baby yarn and 2ply and 4ply. She crocheted loads of stripey blankets so now I can crochet I may have to do the same!

Progress – finished but when I completed it I realised it was HUGE, and I mean HUGE. I knit it exactly to the pattern with the yarn detailed so goodness knows what happened! I was so deflated I couldn’t even be bother to unpick but the yarn is nice and so I need to unpick

Frogged 18th July 2007

Yarn -leftover aran yarn from Dave’s sweater not sure what it was

I knitted the whole thing before I realised that the lacy border all around the edge (bottom edge up the right front, round the neck and back down the left front!) was crocheted – and I couldn’t crochet! I finally taught myself and managed to complete it ready for Summer 2007.

17) baby sweater with rabbit
Yarn – Sirdar Snowflake
Pattern Sirdar pattern leaflet
Started – I think I was knitting this for my God-Daughter when she was born and she just had her 6th birthday! In my defence at the time she was born I was moving house and planning my wedding so I think this got shelved and forgotten somewhere in that confusion…

20)Aran jacket
Yarn – Hand-spun Irish 100% wool which I bought when I went to Dingle, Ireland at Easter 1999
Pattern – it was a pattern from a magazine called “Essentials” which I used to subscribe to
Started – Autumn 1999
Progress – halfway through I decided I didn’t like it…the yarn is wonderful and deserves to be something beautiful so I need to unpick and recreate. I’ve been looking for some yarn to knit Sunrise Circle Jacket a free project from Interweaves. I have two colours of this yarn green and deep blue and probably enough for two pullovers or one large jacket.

21) Cable sweater
Yarn – Heather coloured aran yarn (no labels left)
Pattern – no idea
Started – this could be my oldest UFO. I know I already half-knit a sweater which had embroidered flowers then unpicked and started this current incarnation…I actually have no idea what I was knitting!

Progress – as I don’t even know what this was I need to unpick, the yarn is a wonderful colour though and I would love to make something with it.

22) Sanquhar Gansey
Yarn – Stylecraft Aran in brown and cream
Pattern – The Traditional Sweater Book
Started – 2005
Progress – 5% – about 10″ knit. Very slow knit as it is a 2 colour stranded work design.

FROGGED
23) Banff- chunky sweater
Yarn – Rowan Chunky
Pattern – knitty.com
Started – Winter 2005
Progress – despite careful gaugning I ran out of yarn with 2″ sleeve to go. I do have replacement yarn to knit this sweater as I love the pattern but obviously this needs unpicking.

Frogged 18th July 2007

24) Binary scarf
Yarn – Stylecraft DK
Pattern – knitty.com
Started – Dec 2006
Progress – 15% current project for hubby

25) Leaf pattern baby shawl
Yarn – Patons Fairytale 2ply
Pattern – Patons leaflet – my favourite shawl pattern which I have knit at least 8 times, it’s now held together with sellotape!
Started – Summer 2006 when my friend told me she was pregnant.
Progress – 95% – 1/3 of border to complete and sew on.picture of current progress here. I really need to finish this as the baby is now about 2 months old…I think I didn’t finish it as my own situation re babies (failed fertility treatments and coming to terms with adopting) made me scared to go visit a brand new baby and if I didn’t finish the shawl I couldn’t go round…I am feeling a bit stronger now so will finish it.
