Breakthrough Breast Cancer

I recently signed up to the £1,000 challenge for Breakthrough Breast Cancer - I am aiming to raise £1,000 (hopefully in a year) and then I get to choose a name to appear on their £1,000 challenger’s wall. I will probably choose my nan who died from breast cancer several years ago.
I have been raising money for Breakthrough on and off over the past three years since my sister in law was diagnosed with breast cancer. After she had chemo and surgery she wanted to do something to (a) raise money for breast cancer research and (b) prove she had beaten it so she talked me into walking the “Moonwalk” with her. This is a power walking marathon which starts at midnight in Hyde Park, London and everyone taking part wears a bra. It was an amazing experience - 1,000’s of women (and a few men) walking around the streets of London in the early hours of the morning in wildly decorated bras!.
After that we did a couple more sponsored walks and sold some pins but I felt I wanted to do something more so I took up the £1,000 challenge.
I’ve done a power walking half-marathon along the Thames path with my mum, had a couple of car boot sales and am hoping to have a “sale of work” before christmas to sell my knitted items.
If anyone would like to buy a hat, scarf, gloves etc etc just drop me a note letting me know what you would like and I can give you a price. I’m going to post pictures of some of the things I’m working on so if you see something you like let me know.
If you want to see how I’m doing against my target, my online fundraising page is at www.bmcharity.com
