Another pair of socks
Yes, it’s another pair of socks! These are a commission for a friend (if you’re reading this, Emma, you can come pick them up anytime).
Pattern: Fancy Silk Sock from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock colour “Desert Flower”
Knit on 2.5mm dpn Addi Aluminium
Mods: Changed the toe slightly, decreased to 16 sts then used a Kitchener Graft as I think it’s neater than the suggested decrease to 8sts and then draw the yarn through to finish.
These are currently blocking on a towel in front of my patio doors (I don’t have any sock blockers
)

Emma’s so lucky! These socks are gorgeous! I love the colorway (and I love Lorna’s Laces!!) - all around just awesome!

Beautiful, Wendy! Your friend is going to be very happy! I knit this same pattern for my Sockret Pal, and I was very sad to have to give them up.
If you want some sock blockers but don’t want to buy any, you can make your own from wire hangers. I have a pair I made that I use mostly for lace socks to open up the pattern. They’re not perfect, but they work in a pinch.
