We had no snow at all down here in Cornwall :(

I just called Lucy over to have a look at your snowman. She was most impressed "Wow! that`s really good" she said!

So yourself and J were busy in the snow then on Friday?! lol :)

That snowman looks great!

I was going to drag Kerroan out into the snow yesterday for some play, but the poor guy wasn't feeling too well so we just looked out the windows.

Aha!...the more astute of us have noticed that J, apparently, was 'working from home'! I promise I won't tell.

Your snowman is far more artistic than mine! However, I did have to make mine at 9pm - so that is my excuse.
Crochet books - Happy Hooker is a good starting point, it is all in American crochet terms (which can be a little confusing to start with) but it has some really good explanations of how to make the different stitches etc etc. The only other crochet book I have is Jan Eaton's 200 Crochet Blocks - which I love - as demonstrated by the blankets I have made. Instructions are fairly simple and the bonus of making little squares is that it is not too much to rip if it all goes wrong :0)

Wendy, your garden looks lovely covered in snow. We had two days of "spring" and now back to winter.

Hi Wendy
I came across your website while searching the internet for UK/US conversions on knitting needles.
I moved from London to the Cayman Islands last year and after a few months off, I'm keen to start knitting again. The wool they sell on the Island is yucky polyester mix stuff, so I went online to order some wool from as US site (cheaper postage etc) but it is very confusing with all the different terminology, so am grateful to have found your conversion page.
I'm a total novice so if you have any suggestions as to what are good beginners patterns, I'd love to hear from you.
Enjoy the snow - we've sort of forgotten what that is here!
