Pattern for toddler keyhole scarf
Someone asked me today if I would share the pattern for this scarf which I posted about a while ago –
the hats were from Sirdar snuggly pattern book but the scarf I made up as I went along to match the moss stitch hat. So here’s the pattern the best I can remember :
It was knit with Wendy Peter Pan baby aran wool in a moss stitch (seed stitch) pattern on 5mm needles.
cast on 13 sts
row 1: k1 *p1 k1 repeat from * to end
repeat this row until work measures 19″ (48 cm) from start then make keyhole as follows
row 1: (k1 p1) twice , cast off 5 sts in pattern, (p1 k1) twice
row 2: (k1 p1) twice, cast on 5 sts, (p1 k1) twice
continue with moss stitch pattern as before until work measures 7″ (17cm) from keyhole. Cast off.
Any questions please let me know – this is the first time I’ve written a pattern down for anyone except myself so I hope it makes sense!

[...] Okay the scarf… Kinda like this: Wendy’s Woolies » Blog Archive » Pattern for toddler keyhole scarf This is what a friend of mine made (but I don’t want ears on DD’s hat ) I’m not that picky about the specific knitted pattern, but I like the idea of the keyhole [...]
I love this scarf…and just what I’ve been looking for. I’ve got an adult version but was looking for a pattern to make the scarf for my granddaughters.
Thank you!!
